Retirement Caricature

Here is a Retirement Caricature I did this week. It was a large A2 size, always fun to do something that can be seen from outer space. The company loved it, here's what they said....

"Just a quick note to let you know the caricature arrived this morning and we are over the moon with it!!!!!! Thank you for organising everything the way we were imagining (and even better).

We can't wait to get it framed now and give it to him at his retirement function. It will be something quite special for him (and I know he will be touched by what we have arranged - far better than a gold watch!).

We couldn't be happier with the result. Thanks on behalf of everyone here at Supagas for a brilliant job."

Many thanks,
Lisa M

A Farewell Gift Caricature

I recently did this Farewell Gift Caricature. It was for a guy heading back to Germany after having worked for a Sydney company for some years. And no he didn't Jet Ski all the way back to Hamburg.

I have created numerous caricatures that are given as Farewells or Retirement gifts. They make a fun alternative to a gold watch!

Here is a recent testimonial from one company. "I have used Caricatures by Spratti on a number of occasions and the caricatures I have ordered have definitely met expectations and exceeded them. Thanks Phil for making my job easy."

70th Birthday Caricature Gift

You're never too old to ride a pig!

This recent caricature I did was for a guy in Hong Kong who was turning 70.
Now you're going to ask me why a pig. Can't answer that, I just followed the instructions given by the customer.

Fun to draw a pig though!

1st Wedding Anniversary Gift Idea

Traditionally the gift for a 1st Wedding Anniversary is paper.
This is why Rita chose to get one of my caricatures done. I did it this week based on her brief description of what she had in mind. It was a fun one to do and I even managed to include her little dog Jet.
You can find plenty more of my 1st Anniversary caricatures at

Train of thought

People are fascinating to watch but they are even more fascinating to draw.  Here are a couple of people I drew recently when I was on the train to Brisbane.  Like most of us they were completely lost in thought whilst gazing into their mobile devices.  Good for me as that means they generally stay pretty still.

I find the hand gestures of people holding their mobile phones really interesting. (yes, I know we artist's find the strangest things interesting).  Everybody seems to have their own particular way of cradling this new technology. Which means that in the history of humankind these hand gestures have never before been depicted in art. They are unique to the time we live in - fascinating.
